Rostov-on-Don: volunteers cook hot lunches for homeless people

On December 30, the city of Rostov-on-Don starts a charity action "With faith for the best", when during all the Russian New Year holidays volunteer of the organization named "Rostov without drugs" will cook free hot meals for local homeless people and other needy citizens.

"Traditionally, the New Year celebrations mean meeting with relatives and friends, the days of family warmth and comfort. Therefore, during these days, those who have no home and family are especially acutely feeling their loneliness and hopelessness. Within the action, volunteers will try to share not only food but also their spiritual warmth with those who need it," said one of the organizers of the action.

Volunteers the organization – rehabilitants and former drug addicts – not only give food to those in need, but also talk to them, find out what help they need in every particular situation and offer the people suffering from alcohol or drug addiction to take a course of rehabilitation and socialization, the Site of Rostov-on-Don reports.

A similar action was held in the city this February. During that action, on February 17 only, in the Sobornaya Square of Rostov-on-Don, volunteers managed to feed about 50 homeless persons for the money donated by sponsors, the ADI "Southern Region" reports.
