An action “Give our votes back!” passed off in Novorossiysk

An action of protest “Give our votes back!” passed off in Novorossiysk, Krasnodar region, on December, 18. The participants of the meeting came out in opposition against mass forgery at the election of State Duma of the Russian Federation. 45 people all in all gathered in the square. Many of them sealed their mouths with leaflets “My vote is stolen”.

At the beginning of the action representatives of Novorossiysk Administration and the police came up to its organizer Georgy Sukach, First Secretary of Novorossiysk city committee of KPRF party, and had a talk with him, however they did not stop the action.

The action was continued with a speech of Sukach himself who spoke about mass forgery during voting at the election in Novorossiysk on December, 4. Then the representatives of municipal Administration and policemen approached him again and after a twenty-minutes’ talk the organizer declared the action over and suggested all the participants to break up.

“Most probably, the Administration and police forced the organizers to stop the action of protest. Nobody explained us the reason for interruption of the action”, one of the participants of the meeting said to the “Caucasian Knot” correspondent.

According to the participants of the action, members of divisional election committees who also took part in the previous election with deciding voting power evidenced mass forgery in voting. The participants are going to place information about all the facts of ballot rigging and non-observance of the law “On Election of State Duma” on the Net.

Evgeny Melgunov, coordinator of Novorossiysk civil movement “Protection of Human Rights and Freedoms”, told the “Caucasian Knot” correspondent that the municipal Administration regularly denied authorization of notified meetings and pickets. In particular, earlier the movement was repeatedly denied pickets against forgery at the election.

There have been no comments from the municipal Administration in connection with the oppositional actions yet.
