Residents of Ingushetia-victims of Ruslan Evkurov's activities, are repeatedly summoned for questioning

In Ingushetia, law enforcement officers renewed the investigation into the case against Ruslan Evkurov, the distant relative of Ingush President Yunus-Bek Evkurov, who was accused of fraud against residents of the village of Dolakovo.

"At present, they repeatedly summon all people for questioning," said Ismail Mankiev, the deputy of the municipal rural settlement of Dolakovo.

According to Ismail Mankiev, the investigation into the case against Ruslan Evkurov was renewed at present, since the episode of fraud interested the NTV Channel crew, which visited Ingushetia on that occasion at the end of last week.

Ismail Mankiev has also emphasized that after the "Caucasian Knot" publication, many news agencies and printed media disseminated information about the fraud committed by Ruslan Evkurov.

"At that time, we were summoned for questioning, and we were confronted Ruslan Evkurov. He pleaded guilty and promised to return all money that he fraudulently received from the villagers. I have copies of all interrogations and confessions of Ruslan Evkurov. When the noise in media quieted down, then our law enforcers stopped to investigate the case. At least, they did not invite us anymore and did not inform us about the investigation and when we would receive our money back," said Ismail Mankiev.

Alikhan Merzhoev, Senior Lieutenant of the Investigatory Division Interior of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) of Ingushetia, confirmed Ismail Mankiev's statements.

"I've just recently instructed to investigate the case of fraud committed by Ruslan Evkurov. I take testimony from victims, and then I will summon Evkurov himself," said Alikhan Merzhoev.

"The Nazran ROVD (District Interior Division) wanted 'to soften the case'," told a top-ranking official from the Ingushetian MIA, who preferred to remain anonymous, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

Meanwhile, according to Akhmed Kotiev, Secretary of the Security Council of Ingushetia, the investigation is under his personal control.
