The circumstances of death of an observer from KPRF at the election of State Duma are under investigation in Krasnodar region

On December, 6, Sergey Babenko, observer from KPRF at the past parliamentary election, was found dead in a private house in the settlement of Shkolnoe, Belorechensky district of Krasnodar region. Deputies of State Duma demanded a thorough investigation of the circumstances of his death.

Representatives of KPRF party reported that on the election day, December, 4, Sergey Babenko was monitoring at the polling station No 06-35 of the settlement of Shkolnoe, Belorechensky district of Krasnodar region. Later in the evening a quarrel occurred between Babenko and Chairperson of the committee Gaiana Bakhrieva. According to the communists, the reason was Bakhrieva's refusal to give out the final voting protocol after which Babenko was removed from the polling station.

Sergey Babenko promised to report all the violations to responsible authorities, in particular mentioning the fact that Bakhrieva's husband was acting as member of divisional election committee with deciding voting power though as it emerged later, was not authorized as such, web-site of the regional branch of KPRF reports.

In the afternoon of December, 6, the fifty-five-year-old Sergey Babenko was found dead. According to the local communists, on that day observers from different parties arranged to meet and draw up remarks on the protocol they were able to receive only 24 hours after the election. The observer from KPRF did not arrive, so his colleagues went to see him and found his dead body at home.

According to preliminary expert opinion on autopsy, the man's death was caused by alcoholic cardiopathy.

"Pre-investigative inquiry on the fact is currently in process, "Yugopolis" quotes Ivan Sengerov, Senior Assistant Chief of regional investigative department. - As of the moment, the investigation has no data of any crime committed against the fifty-five-year-old observer".

Law enforcement bodies have started no criminal proceedings on the fact of Babenko's death yet, - "Yuga.ru" referring to Deputy Chief of Belorechensk inter-district investigative department of Committee of Inquiry Roman Zloy reports.

There are no comments from representatives of the divisional election committee on the accident yet.

Meanwhile, representatives of KPRF have suspicions about a possible criminal cause of the observer's death. According to Nicolay Bravkov, Head of Belorechensk district branch of KPRF in Krasnodar region, Babenko had never had any complaints of poor health, "Life News" remarks.

The deputies of State Duma from KPRF reported the observer's death and their distrust towards local power-wielding structures to President of Russia Dmitry Medvedev, Prime Minister Vladimir Putin, Head of Central Election Committee Vladimir Churov, Prosecutor General Yury Chaika and Head of Committee of Inquiry of Russia Alexander Bastrykin.

It should be reminded that on December, 6, Election Committee of Krasnodar region announced final results on the election of December, 4. According to its data, "United Russia" polled 56,15 % votes in the region. In the territory of Belorechensk territorial Election Committee "United Russia" polled 63,88 % votes and in the polling station No 06-35 in particular, it polled 83,49 % votes, official web-site of Central Election Committee reports.

It is also worth reminding that on the day of election of deputies of State Duma during counting of votes at the polling station No 22-47 representatives of LDPR and KPRF parties discovered stuffing of packs of ballot papers with votes for "United Russia".
