Homeless people in Rostov are taught computer literacy

A complex social center rendering aid to homeless persons in Rostov-on-Don (CSC) has organized courses of computer literacy for maladjusted citizens living in the center.

The courses will teach homeless persons to use Internet, search vacancies independently, get information of legal innovations, contact other people at forums, exchange e-mail messages, find their relatives. The organizer of the program is the Ministry of Labour and Social Development of Rostov region.

Classes started on December, 1. 13 people signed up as first-year students. They are mostly elderly and disabled persons. The teachers are an IT professional and a psychologist, web-site of the Ministry reports.

"There are people with their own laptops among the students attending classes. It is no wonder for the clients of the center are not bums lying in a ditch. These people remained homeless as a result of dramatic life situations. But they are ready to strive and go on working", "161.ru" quotes Nina Alekperova, Press Secretary of the Ministry of Labour and Social Development.
