Chechen MIA denies information about sending police regiment to Moscow

The information that one of the units of the Chechen Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) is quartered in Moscow is absolute disinformation and falseness. This was reported by the republic's law enforcement agencies.

Chechen MIA: Moscow has internal troops and army to suppress serious riots

Let us remind you that quotations about "Kadyrov's" regiment in the capital were distributed on the Internet, after the blogger Bozhena Rynska wrote on her webpage on the Facebook: "At the police station, cops have told me off-the-record, that the Chechen regiment was quartered in the north-east of Moscow and 600 flats were given to them," and the journalist Oleg Kashin quoted the news in his blog in the Twitter.

A number of Russian media picked up the information and expressed their opinion that the Chechen policemen had been directed to the Russian capital to suppress possible mass protests planned for December 10, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent reports.

"In the first place, in our republic we have no" Kadyrov's" or other regiments, battalions or divisions, and we have the Russian MIA's units. In the second place, all our units are located in places of their deployment and perform service and combat missions directly in the territory of our republic. In the third place, we received no directives or orders concerning the detachment of our staff members to Moscow or any other city or region of the country," the Chechen MIA has clarified.

According to a Chechen police officer, the Moscow UVD (Interior Department) is quite capable to perform the tasks of maintaining public order, in case of any major protests.

Earlier, Alvi Karimov, Press Secretary of the Chechen leader, has also denied the information and called it "nonsense."
