Supporters of presidential candidate Alla Djioeva hold rally in South Ossetia

The central Tskhinvali hosts a rally in support of the presidential candidate Alla Djioeva. Ms Djioeva herself spoke to the rally and congratulated the people on winning the presidential election.

Meanwhile, the Supreme Court is considering a complaint lodged on November 28 by another presidential candidate Anatoly Bibilov, in which he stated that on the voting day voters were under pressure. Once the complaint was lodged, the Supreme Court forbade the Central Election Commission (CEC) to announce the election results until it was considered.

Nevertheless, the CEC has stated that by the results of counting of 74 out of 85 (87 percent) polling station protocols, in the second round of election ex-Minister of Education Alla Djioeva won 56.7 percent of votes, while the Emergency Minister Anatoly Bibilov got 40 percent.

More than 1000 people went out to the streets of Tskhinvali led by the presidential candidate Alla Djioeva. Calls were head in the crowd to come out into streets and shots from firearms. People marched along the main street of Tskhinvali and are now in front of the Djioeva's electron office, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent reports.

Mr Bibilov has expressed his disagreement with the preliminary results announcement by the CEC; however, he is ready to accept any decision of the Supreme Court.

Alan Kochiev, an ex-candidate, who had recalled his candidacy in favour of Bibilov, now urged him to concede his defeat. "Your refusal to admit the defeat may split our society and bring it to a tragic confrontation," Alan Tskhurbaev has posted the text of Kochiev's appeal in his blog run on the "Caucasian Knot".
