Board of Elders set up under the leader of Karachay-Cherkessia

In Karachay-Cherkessia, the Board of Elders was established under the leader of the region. Today, the first meeting of the new council was held.

At the meeting with members of the council, Rashid Temrezov, the Karachay-Cherkessian leader, has emphasized that the new body includes "representatives of the republic's older generation, who have wide experience in manufacturing and social activities."

"Each of you is a bright person and an example for imitation. I am confident that your experience and way of life will serve with dignity to bring up the younger generation. I look forward to constructive cooperation with you to ensure stability and prosperity of the republic," the RIA "Novosti" quotes Rashid Temrezov as saying.

The Board of Elders under the republic's leader was established to attract a broad layer of society to solve the most important issues of social and political life of the republic.

At the meeting, Nikolai Narimanov, Chairman of the Council, has emphasized the importance of the fact that "the republic's leadership should draw attention to the proposals of the Council's members." According to him, "efficiency of the Board of Elders will depend" on that fact, the press service of the republic's leader reports.
