Father of Moscow metro female suicide bomber disappears in Dagestan

Rasul Magomedov, a resident of the village of Balakhani, Untsukul District of Dagestan, has disappeared; the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent has learnt about it from his wife Patimat Murshidova. Rasul Magomedov is the father of Maryam Sharipova, who, according to investigators, blew herself up in the Moscow metro in March 2009.

According to the woman, Rasul Magomedov, born in 1954, was in Makhachkala at teachers' refreshment courses.

"Yesterday, at about 5:30 p.m., he got out of the building of the Institute of Teachers' Advanced Training, took a fixed-route taxi No. 69 and disappeared. His phone is switched on, and calls reach him, but he wouldn't answer. I guess he was kidnapped because he wears a beard. This may be the only reason for kidnapping, as he is just a village teacher," said the wife to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

According to Ms Murshidova, earlier her husband was detained by the police of the Untsukul District of Dagestan.

"He was taken away by policemen who took a sample of his blood, allegedly in order to establish whether our son was involved in some crime or not. Rasul was angry with them and had a row with the police," said Murshidova.

Relatives of the missing person have filed applications to the Kirov ROVD (District Interior Division) of Makhachkala and the Untsukul district police division.

The fact that Rasul Magomedov is the father of Maryam Sharipova was reported to the "Caucasian Knot" by the readers by means of the SMS service. Under the family tradition, his children received the surname of their grandfather - Sharipov.

The press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) of Dagestan said that they had no data about Rasul Magomedov's disappearance.
