Six men arrested in case of minor's rape in Kabardino-Balkaria

In Kabardino-Balkaria, six figurants in the case of a rape of an underage girl in a village of the republic have been already arrested. This was reported today by Valery Ustov, Chief of the Investigatory Department of the Investigatory Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF) for the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic (KBR).

The "Caucasian Knot" reported that more than 15 men are suspected of raping a 14-year-old girl, who arrived in the KBR from the Kursk Region. On July 19, investigators filed charges against three residents of the village.

The girl, who celebrated her 15th birthday in August, at the time of the investigation was placed in the centre of social assistance in the city of Nalchik. In early October, she escaped from the centre with her female friend; however, two weeks later police officers found them in an abandoned building in Nalchik.

In October, one more person involved in the criminal case - a 16-year-old resident of the village - was identified, he was charged under Part 3 of Article 131 (rape of a minor) of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation and he was arrested in accordance with the court decision, the RIA "Novosti" reports.

"Six men have already been arrested on the criminal case, and I believe that all of them will get their bitters," the "FWNews" quotes Valery Ustov as saying.

He has added that in the nearest future the case will be brought to the court. He excludes national background in this case. "The case has no national background. They made no difference. In this situation, a female representative of any other nationality could become their victim," said the head of the Republic's ICRF.

According to the Chegem ROVD (District Interior Division), four of the identified and interrogated suspects, the oldest of who is 20 years old and the younger is 17 years old, deny violence against the girl. However, according to Azamat Semyonov, Senior Investigator of the ICRF for the Republic of Kabardino-Balkaria, medical examination registered the girl's injuries - contusions and bruises on her heads and bruises on her legs.
