The forth journalists' contest "Na/Ne" started in Yerevan

The fourth contest of journalists' works "Na/Ne" started in Armenia. The goal of the contest is studying materials from mass media on women's activities and achievements in the sphere of politics, social life and economy during the year and growth of the interest to this issue in the future.

The British Embassy in Yerevan reports that it is already the third year of "Na/Ne" contest carried out by the British Council within the framework of program "Wo/men in politics" and Yerevan office of OSCE. The program of the contest "Wo/men in politics" is financed by the British Embassy in Yerevan.

Requests for participation will be received till January, 17, 2012, then the results will be summarized by the end of January. Materials published in print and online media, broadcasted on the TV and radio, articles by independent journalists dated January to December, 2011, can participate in the contest. Public voting is also expected to be organized at the web-page of Yerevan office of the British Council on the Facebook, IA "Novosti-Armenia" reports.

Prizes will be awarded in the following nominations: TV material, printed article, radio news, online or blog news, photo, social or commercial advertising connected with the woman's image or gender equality.

The prize fund of the contest makes 525 thousand drams (over 1300 dollars): 300 thousand drams for the first place, 150 thousand drams for the second and 75 thousand drams for the third place. Prizes from organizations partners of the contest are also expected.

The program "Wo/Men in Politics" started in Armenia in 2008, "Aysor.am" reports.

The program is aimed at growth of the woman's role in politics and promoting collaboration between men and women in the political sphere.
