Residents of Grozny state that the fans were gathered at the football match between the combined teams of the Russian Federation and Lithuania in Chechnya compulsory

The fans were gathered at the unofficial football match between the second combined teams of Russia and Lithuania which passed off on November, 12, in Grozny by enforceable law. This is stated by residents of the town working in government-financed organizations of the republic, students and pupils of general senior school. In spite of this, about half of the tribunes for fans were empty during the match.

It should be reminded that in spite of the fears of the Lithuanian party, the unofficial football match between the combined teams of Russia and Lithuania in the capital of Chechnya passed off without incidents. The game ended with a total score 2:0 Russia.

"On Friday, November, 11, we were warned that by two o'clock in the afternoon, November, 12, we had to come to the stadium where the football match would be held. No excuses or statements of being busy were accepted. The management informed that this was an instruction "from above" and all the organizations of the republic, not ours only, had to send their people to the match mandatory", Usam A., an employee of one of the enterprises of oil industry, said to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

According to him, the management of the enterprise told them the tickets to the stadium would be free and the most strict measures, up to discharge, would be taken against those who fail to come to the match.

According to the students of the institutes and University of Grozny, they were told they would not be allowed to take examinations or final tests for failure to come to the match.

The Ministry of Interior Affairs of Chechnya reported that the unofficial football match between the combined teams of Russia and Lithuania in Grozny passed off without any incidents. The personnel of law enforcement bodies also informed that beside the local fans, fans from the neighbouring regions, i.e. Ingushetia, Dagestan and Kabardino-Balkaria, came to the match.

The match between the Russian and Lithuanian teams in Grozny passed in the conditions of reinforced security. According to the evidence of local residents, reinforced flying squads were on duty all the way along the highway from the airport where the Lithuanian football team arrived up to the center of the town. The sports complex named after Ahmat Kadyrov itself where the unofficial match was held was also under reinforced guard.
