    Rukman Ediev killed in a special operation in Chechnya

    In the course of a special operation conducted in the Shali District of Chechnya, law enforcers killed Rukman Ediev, which, according to the local MIA, was an active member of the armed underground in the republic.

    "In the course of a joint special operation aimed to find and neutralize participants of bandit formations, held near the village of Agishty, Shali District, a stranger armed with automatic firearms was detected. When offered to surrender, he opened fire and was killed during a skirmish," the "Caucasian Knot" was informed at the local MIA.

    According to the MIA, the casualty was identified as Rukman Ediev, 38, a resident of the village of Melch-Khi, Gudermes District of Chechnya, who was on the federal search list. Law enforcers found a Kalashnikov submachine gun with six loaded magazines on him.

    The position of Rukman Ediev's relative as to the allegations of his involvement with militants is not yet known.
