Needy residents of Chechnya to get free cattle to celebrate Kurban Bayram

On the eve of the Muslim holiday of Kurban Bayram, poor families living in settlements of the republic will receive free animals for the rite of sacrifice.

"Sacrificial sheep are distributed in all regions of the republic. By the order of the head of Chechnya Ramzan Kadyrov, every dwelling settlement has defined ten poorest families, who will receive a sheep or a ram each for making a sacrifice on Kurban Bayram, as prescribed by the Islam," an official from the Chechen Muftiyat told the "Caucasian Knot".

This year, one of the major Muslim holidays – the Kurban-Bayram (Eid al-Adha) – is marked on November 6. Its celebration usually lasts for three days. In this context, by the order of the head of Chechnya, November 7 was announced a day-off.
