Dagestani woman reports that she is not given her son's body for funeral

Djubairiyat Paizullaeva, a native of the city of Izberbash, claimed that officials refused to give out the body of Shamil Paizullaev, her son, to her. According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) of Dagestan, on June 19, he was killed when he rendered resistance to the police officers.

The MIA's officer also stated that Shamil Paizullaev had been put in the international wanted list on suspicion of involvement in illegal armed formation (IAF) and involvement in preparing the terror act, which was to be committed at a New Year's Eve in Moscow.

"My son was killed in summer, I repeatedly visited the investigators of the Investigatory Committee (IC) of Dagestan, they told me that, to give out the body, they needed a permission from Moscow; however, all the time, all requests received the answer that the investigation was underway and, therefore, the problem could not be solved at that moment," Djubairiyat Paizullaeva told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

She said that on November 2 she went again to the Dagestani IC. "And I was again told that the message from Moscow gave no clear answer whether the body could be given out or not; thus, they sent a new request to the centre and they expected to receive the answer in a week," Djubairiyat Paizullaeva stated.

The woman believes that her son had not been involved in anything criminal. "I watched the life of my son. He was a strictly practicing Muslim. He had never expressed any radical thoughts, and he was not registered at the police station. He did not hide from anyone, and he was not put in any international wanted list," she has emphasized.

According to the mother, her son "often travelled to Moscow on business, and his business was successful." "And all accusations of power agents are just allegations; they killed the innocent man, now they shifted all crimes to him. Now, it's very difficult to prove that my son was not a criminal," the woman has stressed.

Tulpar Malikov, Senior Investigator of the Dagestani IC, who controlled the investigation into the case, told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that the problem to give out the body can be solved only in Moscow.

"The criminal case was instituted, which contained acts associated with terrorism; in such a situation, the body can be given out only by permission of the higher authority," Tulpar Malikov stated.
