A detained oppositionist in Rostov-on-Don went on a starvation

Leader of Rostov "Left Front" Vladislav Riazantsev was detained by the police. He is accused of disorderly conduct. As a sign of protest the oppositionist went on a starvation.

The detention took place at about 17:00, October, 28, in Pervomaisky district of Rostov-on-Don.

At the moment of detention Riazantsev was "going on his own business", web-site of the oppositional movement reports.

The personnel of the Police Department stated that Riazantsev was "swearing dirtily in a public area and offending the policemen", "Rostov Times" writes.

"The reasons for the detention are vague. Vladislav has never been inclined to disorderly conduct or obscene swearing which might have been also incriminated to him according to clause 20.1 of the Code of administrative violations. One can suppose that it was one more attempt to frustrate the meeting "Strategy-31", "Russian News Agency" quotes Pavel Nagibin, representative of "Left Front".

An administrative protocol concerning Riazantsev was drawn up according to clause 20.1 of the Code of administrative violations of the Russian Federation (disorderly conduct). Press service of Directorate of Interior Affairs of Rostov-on-Don confirmed that Vladislav Riazantsev was detained for swearing dirtily and would be brought before the magistrate of Pervomaisky district.

After receiving the charge in the Police Department Vladislav Riazantsev went on a starvation rejecting food and water", "V161" reports.
