Stavropol Territory: Governor Gaevsky provides Muslim leader with bodyguards

Valery Gaevsky, Governor of the Stavropol Territory, provided Mufti Mukhammad-Hadji Rakhimov, Chairman of the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Stavropol Territory, with a personal car and bodyguards to ensure his safety. This was announced on October 27 by Mufti himself.

"Spiritual leaders were killed throughout the history of mankind, and they are killed now. However, I am grateful to the Government of Stavropol Territory and the Governor, who gave us a Touareg car and bodyguards. In this regard, we are furnished," said Mukhammad-Hadji Rakhimov, who is also the head of the Russian Association of Islamic agreement.

In his turn, Kurban-Hadji Ismailov, Deputy Chairman of the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Stavropol Territory, believes that the Mufti should not be separated from other Muslims. "I think it's wrong to separate oneself from Muslims and to protect oneself by bodyguards. The task of the Spiritual Administration is to interact with all social classes and solve the problem in a live contact," the "Interfax" quotes Ismailov as saying.

The press service of the Governor made no comments on his decision to provide Mukhammad-Hadji Rakhimov with car and bodyguards, the "FederalPress" reports.
