The European Court obliged Russia to pay a compensation of 30 thousand euro to the father of a missing resident of Chechnya

The European Court of Human Rights acknowledged Russia guilty of violating clauses of the European Convention on Human Rights and obliged it to pay a compensation to a sum of 30 thousand euro to father of Abdulbek Tashukhajaev, resident of Chechnya, who disappeared in 1996.

Tashukhajaev got lost in February, 1996. The tank truck he had been driving was found near the Chechen village of Berkut-Yurt but there is no information of Tashukhajaev's location as of today.

In the opinion of Strasbourg judges, no due inquiry on Tashukhajaev's disappearance has been carried out. Besides, ECHR found signs of violation of the European Convention on Human Rights, i.e. the right to live, the right to liberty and safety, "Deutsche Welle" referring to KNA agency reports.

The verdict on Abdulbek Tashukhajaev' case was brought on October, 25. The missing man's father must get a compensation of 30 thousand euro from Russia. Within a period of three months each party has a right of request to refer the case for consideration of the Big Chamber of the Court, "CapitalRus" reports.
