In Moscow, jury finds defendants in Yuri Volkov's murder case guilty

The jury of the Moscow City Court pleaded Akhmedpasha Aidaev, a native of Chechnya, guilty to intentional murder of Yuri Volkov, an employee of the VGTRK (All-Russia State Television and Radio Broadcasting Company), a fan of the "Spartak" FC. Another defendant - Bekkhan Ibragimov - was also pleaded guilty.

The "Caucasian Knot" reported that the 23-year-old football fan Yuri Volkov was killed on July 10, 2010, as a result of fight between the Muscovites and the natives of Chechnya. Two his friends were injured. On fact of the incident, Akhmedpasha Aidaev, who is accused of murder, and Bekkhan Ibragimov, who is charged of infliction of grave bodily injury to other victims, have been arrested.

Before announcement of the verdict, the jury had been staying in the jury-room for more than three hours.

According to the verdict, Akhmedpasha Aidaev was pleaded guilty of murder driven by hooliganism, beating and hooliganism committed by a group of persons by prior concert.

Another figurant of the case - Bekkhan Ibragimov - was pleaded guilty of intentionally infliction of trivial injury driven by hooliganism and hooliganism committed by a group of persons by prior concert, the "ITAR-TASS" reports.

The verdict stated that "on last July 10, around 01:10 Moscow time, the defendants, being in opposition to other people and demonstrating their disregard for other people, attacked previously unfamiliar victims" in the presence of strangers.

"Provoking a fight, Aidaev pushed with his shoulder Maxim Domnitsky, one of the victims, and, using a slight reason - remark made by Domnitsky - punched him in his left eye and in his shoulder, and Ibragimov, the second attacker, stabbed Dmitriev in his shoulder and inflicted him a non-penetrating stab wound in lumbosacral area," the verdict reports.

Besides, the jury found proven Ibragimov's guilt that he had stabbed the victims Maxim Domnitsky and Valentin Podoprigora and then tried to escape from the place, but he had been detained.

The jury decided that Aidaev did not deserve leniency, the "RAPSI" reports.

Let us remind you that, according to the investigators, the defendants provoked a conflict with a group of young men, including Yuri Volkov. Akhmedpasha Aidaev may face life imprisonment, and Ibragimov - up to seven years of imprisonment. Both defendants deny their guilt and state that they were entangled in a fight by football fans themselves and that they had no knives.
