Over one hundred people took part in a meeting against Olympic resettlement in Sochi

The tenth meeting of persons aggrieved by "Olympic" resettlement was held in Sochi on October, 23. Over one hundred people arrived to participate in the action from different districts of the city.

It should be reminded that meetings of discontented people are held in Sochi practically every week.

According to the organizer of the meeting Irina Brovkina, she "got threats of violence" before the action. "They most probably just tried to intimidate me in order to conceal the problems of Olympic settlers who are being deprived of their dwelling and lands under unequal conditions", Brovkina considers.

The demonstrators were holding posters with the demands to observe of the Constitution of the Russian Federation, pay them a compensation for confiscated dwelling or provide them with other ones. They also demanded resignation of the Government of the Russian Federation, holding honest election and "enacting fair people's court in the country".

Representatives of LDPR, KPRF and "Yabloko" parties, non-governmental organizations "Environmental Watch", "People's Council", "Defense of Citizens' Constitutional Rights" came to support the meeting.

The participants also reported that agent provocateurs tried to frustrate the action. According to them, at 14:00 some strangers in a drunken state came to the meeting. There was a woman among them who threw a three-litters vessel with unidentified liquid (supposedly, ammonia spirit) into the people.

The woman was detained by human rights activist, participant of the meeting Sergey Basmanov. He insisted on the woman's official detention and drawing up a protocol. The "Caucasian Knot" correspondent received a corroboration of the detention in Police Department No 24 of Sochi. An orderly officer said that the material would be "referred to district inspector of the base station for taking a decision".
