Trial on case of mass riots in Manege Square completes defendants' questioning

The Tver District Court of Moscow completed interrogation of the defendants on the case of mass riots in Manege Square in last December. At the court session, the Ruslan Khubaev, the last defendant, gave testimony.

Let us remind you that on October 18 the Tver District Court of Moscow held the court session on the case of riots in Manege Square. The court interrogated two more defendants, Igor Berezyuk and Kirill Unchuk, the activists of the political party "The Other Russia".

Today, Ruslan Khubaev told the court that during the riots "the crowd was pushed aside", he himself was knocked down, lost his glasses and lost consciousness for a short period of time; then he hardly recovered his feet. When he regained consciousness, he went to a spruce tree, and he was again in front of the crowd.

The defendant claimed that "policemen abused him, people were confused". Then he was approached by his acquaintance who, according to Khubaev, said that "people would be rolled". The defendant added that "they threw fences in response to the actions of the policemen, it was a protest, and the fences did not reach the OMON (Special Militia) officers".

Besides, Ruslan Khubaev said that he "was hit with a baton on his back, and Leonid Panin turned away the next stroke". According to the defendant's story, then he squeezed through a gap in the cordon and escaped.

The next court session was appointed for October 25.
