In Nagorno-Karabakh, soldier confesses of inciting his colleague to suicide

In Nagorno-Karabakh, Rafik Mnatsakanyan, a regular soldier, pleaded guilty in the case of the death of his colleague Corporal Yurik Nersisyan. This was reported by the Ministry of Defence of Armenia.

Earlier, "Caucasian Knot" has reported that, according to the official version, the 19-year-old Yurik Nersisyan had committed suicide by shooting out of service firearm during his combat duty. The incident occurred on October 12 at 12:40 a.m. On October 14, a regular soldier was detained under a criminal investigation into the death of Corporal Nersisyan.

The soldier Mnatsakanyan was filed a charge under Article "violation of general rules governing relations between servicemen in absence of subordination relations between them, expressed in humiliation of honour and dignity of a person, in victimization of servicemen or their persecution, or in involvement of violence," the IA "News-Armenia" reports.

"On October 17 Mnatsakanyan pleaded guilty of filed charges and gave testimony," the statement of the Ministry of Defence reports.

On the same day, the court of general jurisdiction of the Syunik Region received a motion asking for pre-trial restrictions against Mnatsakanyan in the form of arrest. The court granted the motion, the "ARMENIA Today" reports.
