In Dagestan, burnt car, belonging to disappeared local resident, found

The car belonging to Salman Abakarov, a 43-year-old resident of the city of Buinaksk, who disappeared on October 11, was found burnt out in one of the gorges of Karabudakhkent District. The driver himself was not found in the car. This was reported by Zarema Bagaudinova, a member of the organization "Human Rights Protection" in Buinaksk and Buinaksk District.

"On October 10 Salman went to memorial meeting to the village of Mushuli of the Untsukul District. A day later, he got under way back, called his wife and said that he would be at home in 2 hours. Since then, his whereabouts are unknown. His relatives and his wife appealed to all authorities; however, no one knows anything," said the member of the organization "Human Rights Protection".

Zarema Bagaudinova noted that the relatives of the disappeared man did not exclude the involvement of local law enforcement agents in the incident.

"They told us that on September 21 an attempt on policemen occurred in the town, and the policemen immediately declared that Magomed, the elder brother of Salman, is involved in the crime. He then disappeared, and it is possible that both brothers were kidnapped by the policemen. Now, their relatives are afraid that the bodies of both brothers will be found anywhere, and then the police will announce that they were involved in the armed underground," Zarema Bagaudinova has noted.

According to her, Salman Abakarov worked as a manager for metal acceptance and brought up five young children.

Zarema Bagaudinova also said that both brothers were Muslims and they had been registered by the local law enforcement agents as the followers of Wahhabism.

In turn, the OVD (Interior Division) of Buinaksk District and the city of Buinaksk told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that they knew nothing about the incident.
