Makhachkala hosts action demanding to release Rustam Yakhyaev

On October 1, relatives of Rustam Yakhyaev, who was kidnapped by unknown masked men, gathered in the central square of Makhachkala with a demand to the police to release Rustam or present proofs of his guilt, if any.

According to the relatives, on October 13, at about 7 in the afternoon, in Makhachkala, armed men took Rustam Yakhyaev, 35, to some unknown place.

According to their story, Rustam Yakhyaev was held at the Centre to combat extremism.

The audience was about 50 persons. Two police lieutenant colonels, who refused to introduce themselves, went out to talk to people. They assured the relatives that they did not know Yakhyaev's whereabouts; and that he was in search.

When people asked them why they did not know where Rustam was, while he was taken away by persons in police uniform, one lieutenant colonel said that police uniform did not necessarily mean that they were policemen.
