Policeman who wounded several persons in Yessentuki is in hospital

The policeman who wounded, in early October, three persons in the city of Yessentuki, Stavropol Territory, is in hospital and was not dismissed from the police, said Svetlana Kharchenko, the assistant of the head of the Investigatory Department for the Territory of the ICRF (Investigatory Committee of the Russian Federation). According to her story, local law enforcement bodies possess evidences that the policeman used his forearms as forced self-defence.

Let us remind you that the incident occurred back on October 2, but became known only on October 11. It was reported that a brawl burst out among visitors of a cafe; the above policeman was one of the participants, and he had his nose broken. In the course of the conflict, the policeman made several shots from his traumatic pistol and wounded three persons, including two minors, who were taken to hospital.

"The policeman is in hospital of Kislovodsk. I can say nothing about his condition, as I have no medical certificate yet," Svetlana Kharchenko said today.

According to her story, the policeman was not dismissed from the police, the Agency "Interfax-South" reports.

According to a source from law enforcement bodies of the territory, the scene was videoed; and the record suggests that the policeman was forced to self-defence. "There's a video record, where we can classify his actions as the necessary self-defence," said the source.

He added that the policeman had submitted a dismissal application. "Now, it is considered; however, there are statutory provisions, under which we can not fire an employee, even if he wrote a dismissal application, while he is on a sick leave," said the source as quoted by the RIA "Novosti".

A criminal case was initiated on the fact of the incident in the cafe under part 1, Article 111 of the Russian Criminal Code (intentional infliction of grave bodily harm to three local residents).
