Residents of Svetloyarsky District, Volgograd Region, protest against district head

On October 10, in the Svetloyarsky District of the Volgograd Region, a rally was held near the municipal district administration in protest against actions of the district head Nikolai Krutov. It was organized by workers of the group of companies "Vodozabor" (Water Intake) and activists of the youth movement "Young Russia".

Most of the protesters were in medical masks and held enemas and toilet bowl lids in their hands. The posters read: "Krutov, resign!", "Krutov and Co., we'll cure you!", "Grebennikov = Orlov (head of the Olkhovsky District, impeached by the Governor, - note of the "Caucasian Knot") = Krutov?"

"We went out for a rally with the aim to draw attention to the problems of our enterprise. Earlier this year, in winter, we revealed E. coli in tap water of several preschool establishments... Krutov was immediately informed about it; however, instead of forcing municipal specialists to eliminate bad technical maintenance of internal water pipelines in the above establishments, the head of the district preferred to silence the situation," said Sergey Lagutin, the executive director of Open Joint-Stock Company (OJSC) "Kompromservis".

Natalia Savoskina, Director General of the Limited Liability Company (LLC) "District Energy Service", accused Krutov of organizing endless checks of her company.

In total, the action was attended by about 80 persons, the "Volga Information Website" reports.

The head of the Svetloyarsky District Nikolai Krutov has commented the charges.

"With regard to E. coli... I know of only a single fact, allegedly confirming it. However, based on a thorough examination of water in the kindergarten, the 'Rospotrebnadzor' (Russian Federal Agency for Consumer Supervision) experts made an unequivocal conclusion: the child got poisoned not at the municipal preschool establishment. Fortunately, the opposite was confirmed: children's nutrition and water drinking regime are under strict control in our district," said Krutov.

He saw the reason for the rally in the economic conflict that had arose within the group of enterprises, which evolved instead of the bankrupt Municipal Unitary Enterprise (MUE) "Svetloyarsky Vodozabor". According to his story, the OJSC "Kompromservis" and the LLC "District Energy Service" are among them. Part of the property that had once belonged to the MUE was returned to the municipality ownership.
