International Theatre Festival "Aifest" is over in Yerevan

On October 8, Yerevan completed its International Theatre Festival "Aifest". The forum attracted 30 theatrical companies from 18 countries, who presented 60 performances.

"Every International Theatre Festival 'Aifest' is like a magazine; and every new issue is anticipated by all theatre-lovers, as it brings new impressions. This year, the festival programme was very interesting and intense," Arthur Gukasyan, the festival director, said to reporters.

"This year, the festival has justified all expectations; at all performances the halls were packed," said Lilit Aslanyan, the press secretary of the festival, and added that ticket prices were quite affordable – 1000 drams, or about 2.5 US dollars.

According to her story, a great success with the Yerevan audience was won by the play "Snow Comedy" staged by the Bulgarian theatre named "Credo". The play is based on fairytales by Hans Christian Andersen.

Nina Dimitrova, Director of the "Credo", said that she was pleased with the Armenian audience: "Our performance was in the full house and received tumultuous applause. We are always waiting for the warmth arriving from the audience. On the Armenian stage we felt hot."
