Sochi: "Olympstroy" employee suspected of large-scale fraud

Investigators suspect the employee of the State Corporation (SC) "Olympstroy", who took part in concluding of an unlawful agreement on compensation for the property, alienated with the aim of preparation of the 2014 Winter Olympic Games, of a large-scale fraud.

It was established that the suspects of the fraud received from the state for more than 80 million roubles for the machinations with the land allocated for Olympic construction.

The focus of the criminal case is on a woman-resident of Sochi, who had conducted, together with her lawyer, a criminal transaction, by definition of the investigation, with a land plot in Klubnichnaya Street. Here, the woman began building a seven-storey building, which was recognized as unlawful. After demolition of the building, the woman managed to get compensation in excess of 80 million roubles, as the land leased by her was within the land designated for Olympic construction.

Inspectors managed to get information that the Olympic land plot was leased from the city municipality by a local businessman, who then granted it to the woman for construction. The building process was organized by the businessman's friend, acting as the foreman. Also, data was obtained that the unlawful compensation agreement was supported by one of the employees of the SC "Olympstroy", the website of the ICRF reports.

Now, all the members of the grouping are in custody. The woman-builder, the foreman, the lawyer and the "Olympstroy" employee were accused of committing a large-scale fraud.

The issue is considered of presenting similar charges to the land lessee of the land plot. The criminal investigation continues, the RIA "Novosti" reports.

So far, there are no comments of the defendants and their advocates.
