PACE official treats refugees' living conditions in Ingushetia as unsatisfactory

Today, a delegation of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) has visited Ingushetia and treated the living conditions of internally displaced persons (IDPs) as unsatisfactory.

The PACE delegation is headed by Dendias Nikolaos, a member of the Greece parliament. Together with his colleagues, he visited the temporary accommodation centres (TACs) of refugees from Chechnya, who have been living in the city of Karabulak (Ingushetia) since mid-1990s.

"The conditions of the people who live in TACs are unsatisfactory, despite the measures taken by your leadership. My mission was to personally interact with TAC residents and republic's officials," said Dendias Nikolaos at his meeting with the Ingush Prime Minister Musa Chiliev in the city of Magas after visiting the TACs.

Musa Chiliev said, in his turn, that "there should be no TACs of refugees at all a priori," the "Interfax" report.

Dendias Nikolaos asked about the funding allocated for resettlement of refugees and the measures taken for these purposes during the year.

He was told about the Federal Targeted Programme "Accommodation of IDPs in the Territory of the Republic of Ingushetia", which assumes issuance of subsidies to the refugees wishing to stay in the region, the official website of the government of Ingushetia reports.
