North Ossetia: pensioner suspected of threat to commit terror act

North Ossetia is now investigating a criminal case against a 61-year old resident of Vladikavkaz, suspected of a threat to commit a terror act.

According to investigators, on August 8 and 12, the suspect who disagrees with the decisions of law enforcement officials and judicial authorities of North Ossetia, made on his applications, in order to achieve personal reception by the heads of the Investigatory Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF) called the "helpline" of the Committee and threatened to start a mass shooting, should his demands were ignored.

According to Eduard Gusov, Senior Assistant of the Head of the Department for North Ossetia of the ICRF, "within the criminal investigation, the suspect and witnesses were questioned; records of telephone conversations were withdrawn and reviewed; forensic examinations were conducted; and respective orders and inquiries were sent to investigatory bodies, organizations and agencies."

According to his story, now at the request of investigatory authorities and under a court decision, the suspect was placed into the Republic's Psychiatric Hospital for conducting a comprehensive psychological and psychiatric forensic examination.

The criminal investigation is going on.
