At rally in Makhachkala, residents of Gubden village demand to solve social problems

Today in the centre of the city of Makhachkala more than 100 residents of the village of Gubden of Karabudakhkent District of Dagestan held a rally demanding to solve social problems and to stop the illegal sale of lands of the former Agricultural Production Company (APC).

"The district administration fails to pay due attention to solve social problems of the Gubden residents. In particular, the village administration does not have an office building. It was burned down in a fire, and the administration temporarily settled in a private house, which was purchased for the kindergarten. Six months passed; however, no administrative building was built. And there is no kindergarten in such a large dwelling settlement," said Sultan Gasanov, one of the participants of the rally.

The second demand of the Gubden resident is to stop the illegal sale of lands. "The former head of the local APC sold out the lands of the company. The property of the former collective farm for the amount of 20 million roubles was also sold," stated Sultan Gasanov.

Opinions of the administration of Karabudakhkent District and former head of the APC of Gubden are still unavailable.

The policemen did not allow the Gubden residents to enter the central square in Makhachkala; thus, the rally was held nearby. To discuss these problems with the government of Dagestan, the Gubden residents sent their representatives: Magomedemin Nukhov, the head of the village, and Nurmagomed Shanavazov, the deputy of the National Assembly, the silver Olympic medallist in boxing.

"People who came today to the square present a support group of delegates. If the accumulated social problems are not solved, then about five thousand men will come to Makhachkala," emphasized Magomedtagir Magomedov, another participant of the rally.
