Residents of Chechnya and Ingushetia sentenced for machinations with compensations for lost housing

A resident of the Gudermes District of Chechnya and a woman from Ingushetia have been convicted in Chechnya for illegal receipt of compensation benefits, due for the housing and property lost during the warfare.

According to investigators, in 2004 Ramzan Akhmadov and Losikhan Mamilova falsified data and submitted forged documents to the committee of the Chechen government for payment compensations. Under these documents, in 2009 and 2010 they received 350,000 roubles each.

"The Gudermes District Court delivered its verdict against a local resident Ramzan Akhmadov. In 2004, he received money for the destroyed house, which was located in the village of Melch-Khi and in fact did not belong to him. This household was listed on the balance of the state farm "Melchkhinskiy," the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was informed by an employee of the republic's law enforcement bodies.

On September 10, Akhmadov was found guilty of committing the incriminated crimes and sentenced to three years of imprisonment with a probation period of three years. The court also ordered him to return the illegally obtained money back to the state.

A similar crime was committed by Losikhan Mamilova, a resident of Ingushetia. "She managed to receive money for her allegedly destroyed housing and lost property during the warfare, not even living in Chechnya. She presented documents to the commission that she had lost a house in Fasadnaya Street in the Zavodskoy District of Grozny, and in 2009, she also received 350,000 roubles. The Zavodskoy District Court has sentenced Mamilova to three years of imprisonment in a minimum-security colony, suspended with a delay of the sentence until 2015, when her youngest child is 14. The stolen money should be returned to the state," said the source.
