After suicide bombers' attacks in Grozny, power agents smash the office of the Union of Entrepreneurs of Chechnya

The office of the Union of Entrepreneurs of Chechnya, located in a house, near which a triple explosion was triggered at night on August 30, was almost completely destroyed by power agents. According to local law enforcers, the agents acted "under the actual situation" and "subject to possible threats."

"After at night on August 30 three suicide bombers blew themselves up in Bogdan Khmelnitsky Street located in the Lenin District of Grozny, the house No. 127 in this street, where it all happened, was surrounded by special forces of the local MIA, in particular, by the OMON (riot police) fighters. They threw grenades into the room on the second floor of the house, which was leased by the Union of Entrepreneurs of the Chechen Republic from the Trust Bank, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told by the leader of a Chechen human rights organization.

According to his story, the agents broke into the empty room and smashed everything that was inside. "It's absolutely impossible to understand their actions, although there are reasons to believe that policemen fulfilled someone's order," said the human rights activist.

He told about one of the cases run by the Union of Entrepreneurs. "For four years already the Union is unsuccessfully litigating against the Republic's Organization 'Spetsstroy' trying to collect a debt of 1.5 billion roubles that the 'Spetsstroy' owed to construction firms-members of the Union of Entrepreneurs for construction and rehabilitation works performed in Grozny and elsewhere," said the source.

Another source of the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent - from local law enforcement bodies - said that the power agents acted "based on the actual situation" and "with account of possible threats."

So far, no comments are available from the Union of Entrepreneurs of the Chechen Republic and from the Organization "Spetsstroy".
