Dagestan: power-engineering college to train ex-militants after adaptation commission

On September 1, the city of Kaspiisk will solemnly open a new power-engineering college, where places will be reserved for the persons who have undergone the commission for adaptation of militants to peaceful life, said the managers of the new institution.

According to the leader of Dagestan, every year the college will provide a certain number of places for the persons recommended by the commission, who want to learn and get a decent job.

Besides, an agreement was reached with the profile company "Energostroy-M" that the persons who have passed the adaptation commission will be employed by the company.

"Such measures should provide additional incentives for those who want to 'get out of the forest' and start a new peaceful life," said Rizvan Kurbanov, the head of the commission and the first vice-premier of Dagestan.

It is assumed that training will be free; a hostel is available for trainees from other cities; and successful students will receive scholarships.
