The court in Moscow accepted a lawsuit of eviction of the Section of the interests of Georgia from the house in Ostozhenka street

The Court of Arbitration in Moscow registered the lawsuit of “Ostozhenka Business center” limited company of eviction of Consular Department of the Section of the interests of Georgia with the Embassy of Switzerland in Russia from the mansion in Ostozhenka street, No 26/1. This was reported by a representative of the court.

The claimant explains in the lawsuit that the Georgian Embassy rented the mansion of total area of almost 1000 square meters from Moscow till 2001 and then conceded the right of rent to “Center of History of Georgian Settlements” limited company. “Center of History of Georgian Settlements” limited company (later renamed into “Center of History” limited company) bout out the building at an auction and in 2007 sold it to the claimant, “Ostozhenka Business center” limited company.   

At present the whole second floor of the mansion is occupied by the Section of the interests of Georgia in Russia created under the Embassy of Switzerland on March, 4, 2009, for fulfillment of consular functions after breaking off diplomatic relations between Georgia and Russia.

In the claimant’s opinion, there are no legal reasons for occupation of the building belonging to him by the Section. The defendant pays neither rental nor household running costs, Russian Agency of Legal and Juridical Information reports. 

Besides, the owners of the building have presently submitted a lawsuit to the Court of Arbitration of Moscow of cost recovery for rent to a sum of 25 million rubles from the defaulter. The leaseholders owe over one million and 100 thousand rubles for electricity and a large sum remains unpaid for public services.
