In Dagestan, resident of Karata village accuses policemen of beating

Khaibula Khaibulaev, a resident of the village of Karata of the Akhvakh District, appealed to Alexei Savrulin, Chief of the Investigatory Department of Dagestan, and Andrei Nazarov, Prosecutor of Dagestan, demanding to bring to criminal liability Labazan Derbishev, the head of the criminal investigation department of the OVD (Interior Division) of the Botlikh District, who beat him.

Earlier, the "Caucasian Knot" reported that the incident occurred on August 16, 2009. According to Khaibula Khaibukaev's story, the militiamen provoke him to the scandal, initially by sayings, then by beating him in his face; after that they brought him to the ROVD (District Interior Division), where they beat him and put in a one-man ward. On August 17 in the morning Khaibulaev was brought to Magistrate Nabiev, where a fine of 1000 roubles was issued.

On August 9, 2011, the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation cancelled the decision of the Supreme Court of Dagestan dated July 19, 2010, which confirmed the legality of action of Djalaludin Nabiev, Magistrate of the Botlikh District. This was reported to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent by Abdurashid Sheikhov, the Khaibulaev's lawyer.

"The people in uniform raised a scandal with Khaibulaev by a trifle reason; then they brought him to the OVD, where they beat him so severely that my client urinated with blood. Later, to give legality to their actions, the policemen issued the necessary documentation on the basis of which Magistrate Nabiev ruled an absolutely unlawful decision," Abdurashid Sheikhov has emphasized, commenting on his client's case.

The comments of Derbishev himself are not available yet.
