Residents of Kizilyurt district ask their relatives who have “gone to the forest” to come back and Head of Dagestan to ensure observance of the law

Today President of Dagestan Magomedsalam Magomedov had a meeting with close relatives of members of paramilitary groups (PMG) who asked Head of the republic to become guarantor of observance of the law if those who have “gone to the forest” surrender to law enforcement bodies and appeal to the Committee for adaptation of gunmen.

Residents of Kizilyurt district: Kurbanali Kurbanaliev, Rustam Kurbanaliev’s father, Kamil Khasarov and Zukhra Omarova, uncle and aunt of Alibek and Gamzat Omarov and Ramazan Tamazaev, father of Gasan Tamazaev, came to tell the authorities of the republic of their problems today. First Vice-premier of the Government Rizvan Kurbanov and member of “Memorial” Human Rights Center Ekaterina Sokirianskaya took part in the meeting.

“The authorities are doing their best to stop bloodshed which carries away the lives of many residents of Dagestan. We want your children to return to peaceful life”, Magomedsalam Magomedov said.

Head of Dagestan pointed out that no one in the republic is prosecuted for one’s views or convictions and law enforcement bodies just struggle against those who have taken arms in their hands.

In addition, Magomedsalam Magomedov declared his readiness to furnish a security personally that no unlawful methods of investigation would be used concerning the members of PMG who surrender and the Committee with the President of the Republic of Dagestan would take into consideration their giving themselves up and carry out proper investigation when considering their declarations.

The relatives of members of PMG, in their turn, appealed to their people through mass media asking them to return to peaceful life.
