In Ingushetia, Plievo residents demand to admit the elected village head to work

In Ingushetia, the residents of the rural dwelling settlement of Plievo urged the republic's authorities to respect their right to elect a head of the municipality.

On August 3 in the morning, at a meeting they adopted the appeal to the republic's leader Yunus-Bek Evkurov and the authorities of Nazran District, demanding to allow working Abu-Sultan Pliev, the head of the village administration newly elected by the deputies of the Local Council.

On July 26, Amirkhan Torshkhoev, a representative of the party "Edinaya Rossiya" has lost the position of the rural dwelling settlement head to Abu-Sultan Pliev, a candidate of the party "Fair Russia" on the election.

According to the deputies, the day after the election, officials arrived in their rural settlement "to cancel the election results by persuasion and demands"; and law enforcement officers refused to let the newly elected head of the local administration to his working place.

In their appeal to the republic's leader and the authorities of Nazran District, adopted at the meeting, the residents of Plievo reaffirmed their trust to Abu-Sultan Pliev and also demanded "to stop the persecution" of the deputies and the elected head of the rural settlement.

In his turn, Bagautdin Mutsolgov, Head of the Nazran District, in his interview to the "Caucasian Knot" said that there was no conflict on the situation in Plievo.

"Stop holding meetings, writing, appealing. Let them appeal wherever they want. We should work and not talk. They do not know themselves what and whom they want. Deputies of the Local Council held several elections, came to conflicting results, made a mess. And now there is no water there, it's hot, it is necessary to restore water supply, to work. The other days I went to the village, talked to the elders, representatives of all teips (clans). They agreed that for a while the administration will be led by the deputy of the former head of Plievo," said Bagautdin Mutsolgov.
