Secretary of Security Council and Ombudsman of Ingushetia studied the experience of Committee for adaptation of gunmen in Dagestan

On July, 21, Secretary of Security Council of Ingushetia Ahmed Kotiev, Ombudsman of the republic Jambulat Ozdoev together with Head of the Committee for adaptation of gunmen and First Vice-premier of Dagestan Rizvan Kurbanov visited the investigative isolation ward where the citizens of Kazakhstan who formerly appealed to the Committee for aid are kept.

The guests from Ingushetia arrived in Dagestan to adopt the experience of the Committee for adaptation of gunmen. “We want to create a similar body in Ingushetia. Much experience in adaptation of gunmen has been accumulated in Dagestan, therefore we asked Head of the Committee Rizvan Kurbanov for help”, Kotiev said.

Rizvan Kurbanov together with Secretary of Security Council of Dagestan Magomed Baachilov suggested the guests from Ingushetia to see the results of the Committee’s work on-site by means of a visit to investigative isolation ward No 1 of Makhachkala where the citizens of Kazakhstan who formerly appealed to the Committee were kept.

The talk with the citizens of Kazakhstan passed off in the office of Chief of the investigative isolation ward, in an informal atmosphere. Ahmed Kotiev and Jambulat Ozdoev inquired about prison conditions in the isolation ward and asked detailed questions on what had made the young people come from Kazakhstan to Dagestan “for jihad”.

The people from Kazakhstan said they had come to the Caucasus “befuddled by extremist propagation on the Net” and now repented of what they had done.

Rizvan Kurbanov, Ahmed Kotiev and Jambulat Ozdoev visited several more cells where they inquired about the prison conditions and asked whether there were any complaints about unlawful methods of investigation.
