Bastrykin commissioned the investigation with verification of all the versions of Natalia Estemirova’s murder

Chairman of Committee of Inquiry (CI) of the Russian Federation Alexander Bastrykin ordered to verify all possible versions of the murder of human rights activist Natalia Estemirova, including the ones offered by “Memorial” Human Rights Center, official representative of CI Vladimir Markin reported today.

According to Markin, Bastrykin commissioned Head of Chief Investigative Directorate in North-Caucasian Federal Okrug with activating the investigation on the case of Natalia Estemirova’s murder, RIA “Novosti” reports.

“To be frank, I am pleased. It means that they have read our report and at least admitted existence of other versions. This is just what we wanted the investigation to do”, Chairman of HRC “Memorial” Oleg Orlov commented on the news.

He thinks there is still hope that the real murderers will be detected, “Interfax” reports.
