Military killed civilians in Kizlyar District, Gadjimurat Kamalov asserts

In Kizlyar District of Dagestan the military shelled the vehicles of local residents, since they considered them militants. The "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told by Gadjimurad Kamalov, the founder of the newspaper "Chernovik" (Draft).

According to Gadjimurad Kamalov, the shelling was caused by the military's fear of the possible attack of the militants. "They were afraid that the vehicles contained militants and defended themselves as they could," concluded Mr Kamalov.

According to the official information, armed confrontation occurred at about 10:20 p.m. Moscow time on July 6 near the village of Serebryakovka, after the motor convoy of the Internal Forces of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) and the Russian MIA's inter-service team was shelled by the unidentified persons. In the course of the armed confrontation one soldier perished. Two suspected militants were also killed in the crossfire.

According to the journalist Gadjimurad Kamalov, the temporary military encampment, and not the motor convoy, was indeed shelled from the forest direction at about 9:13 p.m.

"In about 23 minutes the military opened fire on bypassing cars – the "Gazel" and the "VAZ-2199". In another 20 minutes they shelled one more "Gazel"," stressed Gadjimurad Kamalov.

"One of the victims was Abdulnasyr Pakhrutdinovich Abdullaev, born in 1966, a melon field keeper and combiner of the LLC "Zimnyaya Zhemchuzhina" (Winter Pearl). His two nephews were together with him in the car. The eldest nephew Magomed Yakubovich Abdullaev, born in 1993, had leased a part of the field under melon plantation, in fact, on that day they were returning from that melon field. The younger nephew Akhmed Abdulkhalimovich Abdullaev, born in 1994, attended the 11th form. Both boys were wounded," reported Gadjimurad Kamalov.

According to him, about one more perished still a little is known. "His name was Kurban, he was about 20-24-year-old resident of the village of Bredikhino," said Gadjimurad Kamalov.

Nikolai Sintsov, the official representative of the National Antiterrorism Committee of Russia (NAC), in his turn, stressed that, according to the Committee's information, there was armed confrontation, in which two militants were killed.
