Taliban takes responsibility for crashing Azerbaijani aircraft

The Taliban movement has taken responsibility for the crash of the Azerbaijani cargo aircraft. This was reported by the Afghan media with reference to the Taliban spokesman. Afghani authorities refute the data that the aircraft was shot down by the Taliban.

The incident took place on July 6 at 0:10 a.m. local time near the Bagram Aerodrome, when communication was lost with the aircraft of the Silk Way Company, which was about to land; then, the aircraft disappeared from radar. The Azerbaijani authorities confirmed the plane crash in Afghanistan. The crew consisted of citizens of Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan.

The "black boxes" of the crashed craft were found. All the crew members perished; and their bodies were unidentifiable because of the fire that burst out in the place of the crash, said Bashar Salangi, the governor of the Parwan Province, where the incident took place.

The words of the Taliban spokesman Zabibullah Modzhakhid about the responsibility of the movement for the crash are quoted by the "Trend" Agency with reference to the Fars.

The Afghani authorities refute the spokesman's words that the cargo aircraft was shot down, the RBC reports.
