Resident of Makhachkala reports disappearance of her husband

Ruslan Kurbanov, born in 1976, a native of the village of Verkhni Djengutai, Buinaksk District disappeared in Makhachkala. In the evening on June 20, he left for work and never returned home, said his wife Khadizhat Radjabova.

According to her story, as on July 5 a criminal case on his disappearance was not initiated: and his whereabouts remain unknown.

According to Ms Radjabova, Ruslan Kurbanov was a taxi driver in Makhachkala and worked for the "Lauman" Company. He went to work on June 20 at about 7:00 p.m. The taxi dispatcher heard his voice on the radio for the last time at about 3:45 a.m. on June 21: at that moment Ruslan Kurbanov received a call and was to come to the appointed address within 15 minutes. However, he never arrived there, as stated in the message of the HRC "Memorial" that arrived in the office of the "Caucasian Knot".

Around the noon, his friends began searching him along the route of his taxi; then they went to the Lenin ROVD (District Interior Division). There, they were told that in the morning Kurbanov's car was found burnt down in the reeds, near the sea coast between Kaspiisk and Makhachkala.

Distinct footprints of two men were found near the car. Khadizhat Radjabova was told by law enforcers that a service dog failed to trail her husband's traces in the vicinity.

In about a week after Ruslan Kurbanov's disappearance, at night Khadizhat received a phone call from unknown persons and from the number unknown to her; then, an empty SMS-message came from that very phone. When she tried to make a return call, the receiver was taken but the addressee kept silent; then, an SMS came: "Don't call awhile."

When Khadizhat's neighbour made a call to that number at her request, a woman answered in the Avar language and explained that Ruslan was kept somewhere in the Kizlyar District in a summer house, outside the city. However, she did not explain who and why was keeping him there; she did not offer any help and did not demand any ransom.

So far, the "Caucasian Knot" has no comments of law enforcers on this case.
