Georgian residents may visit Turkey by their IDs

Starting July 1, citizens of Georgia are able to visit Turkey with identity cards. This is stipulated in the agreement signed by the Georgian President and the Turkish Prime Minister on May 31, 2011.

According to representatives of the Georgian government, this simplified access will increase the number of tourists.

No foreign passports are required in this case, the "Antalya Today" writes.

The citizens of Georgia will be able to enter Turkey with electronic IDs, issuance of which was launched in the country recently, the "Business Georgia" reports.

Starting this summer, the Georgian citizens will be able to obtain electronic IDs. New IDs will be issued in the form of plastic cards with electronic signature certificates.
