Dagestan: a woman injured in police car shelling

On June 17 a car was shelled in the village of Bayramaul of Khasavyurt District. A woman was injured and a policeman perished.

"At 10:30 p.m., in the village of Bayramaul unidentified persons with submachine guns shelled the car "VAZ-2107" driven by the Militia OVD (Interior Division) Senior Sergeant of Khasavyurt District, who was off duty, and then assailants allegedly fled on a motorcycle "Ural" with a sidecar, without state registration numbers," informed the representative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) of Dagestan.

8 shells with 5.45 mm calibre were taken out of the place. Militia is looking for the assailants, the RIA "Novosti" reported referring to the MIA representative.

A policeman perished at place from gunshot wounds, and his born in 1966 passenger with shoulder and jaw injuries was taken to the hospital of the city of Khasavyurt.
