Blogger who posted video on corruption in Pension Fund of Kabardino-Balkaria complains of threats

Blogger Boris Sarakuev, a resident of the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic (KBR), who has posted a video on the Internet about corruption in the State Department of the Russian Pension Fund for the KBR, receives demands to remove the video, accompanied by threats of execution. The "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told about it by Sarakuev himself.

According to the blogger, the record made by a hidden camera, where employees of the Pension Fund "admit facts of frauds with 'mother's capital'," was posted on the city forum of Nalchik "Nalchik Online" on June 7.

According to Sarakuev, threats began arriving on that very day. "A stranger called to my mobile phone," he said. "He asked me, 'Are that you - the truth-seeker?', and after this introduction he demanded to immediately remove the video from the forum. Otherwise, he swore to break my 'arms and legs' and noted that he knew my home address."

The information posted on the Internet, according to the blogger, on violations in the Department of the Russian Pension Fund for the KBR was not the first attempt to draw the attention of the public and the authorities to the situation. The first publication was posted on March 10, 2011, in the "Gazeta Yuga" (Southern Paper) (No. 10, "Secret Order"); however, according to Boris Sarakuev, "it went unnoticed", and the Pension Fund did not demand refutation of the facts.

This time, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent also failed to get comments from the Pension Fund.

Boris Sarakuev plans to file an application to the police about the threats addressed to him and to continue "fighting for justice" and, if necessary, to address the General Prosecutor's Office.
