Worker at Sochi Olympic construction loses his arm at shell explosion

Two construction workers from Uzbekistan suffered in Krasnaya Polyana in Sochi. A shell explosion tore away an arm of one of them and caused minor injuries to the other.

The two men arrived at the Olympic construction and were under the adaptation period. On May 26 they were wandering in the neighbourhood and picked up an object in the mountains, looking like live ammunition, which exploded in their hands.

The Uzbeks had arrived officially to work for the Limited Liability Company (LLC) "Voskhozhdenie" (Ascent) for building the Snowboard Park, the edition "Zhivaya Kuban" reports.

Now, the pre-inquiry check is underway. It is supposed that they had picked up an unspent shell used by the anti-avalanche service.
