Resident of Dagestan turns for help to adaptation commission

Today, Sergey Evloev, 19, a resident of Makhachkala, who had stated earlier that he was abducted by local law enforcers, turned for help to the commission under the President of Dagestan engaged in assisting the persons, who have decided to stop their terrorist and extremist activities, in adapting to peaceful life.

"I was kidnapped for the second time; both times I was tortured; apparently I won't be left alone; therefore, I want to ask the commission to be transferred to some other region of Russia," Sergey Evloev told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

He also told about his kidnapping on May 25. "I was rudely forced into a car by several armed men in masks and brought to Division 6 of the Dagestani Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA), where I was tortured: they beat my kidneys and body with plastic bottles, kicked me and applied electricity to my body, threatened to drive a metal rod into my anus. All the time they asked about some militants and those who bring food to them," said Sergey.

"My sufferings stopped only after I said that I'd show a house, where a militant lives. Next to me, a wealthy bureaucrat is living; he has securities; and I pointed to his house. What happened to him later - I don't know," said Evloev.

Sergey said that today he had turned to the public organization (NGO) named "Pravozaschita" (Advocacy), where he was helped to write an application to the above adaptation commission.

Gyulnara Rustamova, Co-Chair of the above NGO, has confirmed that fact of Sergey's address to them and added that traces of torture had been fixed by the photo; however, nobody had addressed doctors yet.

As earlier reported by the "Caucasian Knot", Rustamova was the first to report about Evloev's kidnapping on May 25.

She added that Sergey's problems started after Evloev had taken Islam.

"Sergey is a Jew; several months ago he converted to Islam; and since then policemen began visiting him. They kept asking why Sergey had converted to Islam, who worked with him and so on. Two months ago he disappeared under similar circumstances," said Rustamova.

The press service of the Dagestani MIA told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that they had no information about Sergey Evloev's disappearance.
