Wounded Dokku Umarov takes his treatment in Turkey, said a source from Chechen DFSB

As reported by the spokesman of the Department of the FSB (DFSB) for Chechnya, the leader of the North-Caucasian underground Dokku Umarov was wounded during the pursuit of his group in the Sunzha District of Ingushetia in March 2011, and is probably now in the territory of Turkey.

"Most likely, Umarov is now in Turkey," said a source from the Chechen DFSB, who is quoted by the "Life News". "It is known that many militants had taken refuge there. Moreover, his brother Vakha lives in Istanbul. Although Vakha rejected all his connections with militants after death of their two other brothers - Mussa and Isa Umarov, he never denied that he maintained communication with Dokku.

According to the source, Umarov is delivering all his commands via his associates, which may indicate that he is not in Northern Caucasus. "We have no data about Umarov's presence in Chechnya or Ingushetia. According to our sources, after the special operation, nobody from among bandits has seen Umarov personally. Instructions and orders arrive through his associates," said the FSB officer.

There is no official confirmation of this information; and the websites, which are close to North-Caucasus militants, say nothing about the issue.
