In Dagestan, lawyer Nabiev was forced out of Kizlyar ROVD

Dibir Nabiev, a member of the Bar Association "Kavkaz", has stated his intention to strive for punishing the policemen of the Kizlyar ROVD (District Interior Division), who had forced him to leave the ROVD building. He wrote about it in his application to the Dagestani Public Prosecutor.

As he told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent, the incident occurred in the afternoon on May 17 in the building of Kizlyar ROVD, where he tried to get an appointment to the ROVD boss Gazi Isamagomedov.

"I wanted to get access and defend a boy from the village of Serebryakovskaya, who had been taken to custody in the morning of that very day. I sat in the reception room, when Sergey Inozemtsev, head of the criminal police of the ROVD came up to me. He said that he was personally in charge of detaining the boy; and he would not allow me to defend him. Seeing that I was not going to leave, he called the on duty officer and four more policemen who literally threw me out of the building," said Nabiev.

The lawyer filed applications to Alexander Shelkoplyas, Public Prosecutor of the city of Kizlyar, and to the Investigatory Committee. Only two days later he was allowed to defend his client and got a chance to meet him.

According to the boy, the police planted firearms and extremist literature on him during the search conducted on May 17. "I was asked to give out the arms and everything I had. When I said that I had nothing illegal in the house, the answer was: 'We'll find.' They found some leaflets and a book, and then a pistol with a silencer. I saw all these things for the first time," the client told Nabiev.

The Head of the ROVD Gazi Isamagomedov told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that the information given by lawyer Nabiev was not true. "Every person may come to my reception room. And we get nothing but trouble from lawyers," said the police boss of Kizlyar. The correspondent failed to communicate head of criminal police Sergey Inozemtsev. According to Isamagomedov, he was sick.
